For Current Foster Families
Resources
You said yes to a child who needed you — and Angelheart is committed to making sure you have everything you need to succeed. This page gathers the support, policies, and tools available to families currently fostering with us.
Support You Can Count On
Fostering is a team effort, and you are never on your own. As an Angelheart foster family, you have access to:
- Case management: Strong clinical support and case managers who stay accessible to your family.
- 24-hour emergency assistance: An on-call worker is available around the clock, and you will have contact information for all administrative staff.
- Advisory meetings: Quarterly, collaborative meetings between families and administrative staff.
- A team approach: We center every decision on the family as the core unit, working together for the children in your care.
Respite & Mileage
Everyone needs a break sometimes. Our respite policy reimburses foster parents for a needed rest, calculated on the number of children in your home and based on a 48-hour break — $75.00 for the first child and $25.00 for each additional child. Travel is reimbursed at 40 cents per mile as defined in your foster parent handbook.
Reimbursement Rates
To help meet the needs of children in care, foster parents are partially reimbursed each month for expenses such as clothing, food, shelter, and recreation. Daily rates are based on the child's level of care, which is determined by the specific needs and behaviors of the child or youth.
